J'Aimeka Jai Ferell | Creative Producer
Atlanta native J'Aimeka "Jai" Ferrell is a tenured brand marketing professional working in both professional sports and entertainment. Summing her 8-year career with Turner Broadcasting System, she has assisted in the launch of sports marketing and programming campaigns for the Atlanta Braves, SEC Football and SEC Basketball. Alongside her sports experience, she has contributed to the launches of marketing campaigns for original programs including, but not limited to CNN presents Black in America, Tyler Perry's House of Payne, TNT's The Closer, and BET's Welcome to Dreamland series. Corporately, she serves as Director of Marketing and Brand Development for PlayOn! Sports Media Agency headquartered in Atlanta, GA where she develops marketing strategy for content on ESPN, FOX Sports, Time Warner Cable and Comcast Cable Communications.
Ms. Ferrell holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater Studies from Spelman College and a Master of Arts degree in Communication with a concentration in Digital Media and Moving Image Studies from Georgia State University. Rounding out her corporate experiences in the entertainment and broadcast industries, she works independently as a producer and in creative consulting capacities for live, animation and docu-series content.
Jai served as Executive Producer for BET's first original broadcasting animation, Kasha and the Zulu King, that released in Fall 2012. Kasha & the Zulu King received an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Children's Program during the NAACP Image Award celebration in Los Angeles, CA in February 2013. Later that year, she established Jai + Co, a creative development agency that incubates, develops and pitches content for linear and broadband distribution. Under this business unit, Jai has negiotated development deals with production studios and networks while continuing to maintain relationships with digital and linear networks and media companies.
In 2005, Jai established The Jai Group, LLC, a private consulting group based in Atlanta, GA that partners with professional athletes, fashion/entertainment personalities and personal interest organizations in creating strategies to promote and brand their products and services. She leverages her experiences as a marketer and brand developer, serving as the Chief Marketing Officer for Kickboard Kouture Apparel House, a digitally interfacing ready to wear couture clothing boutique.
J'Aimeka extends her spirit of giving back and paying it forward by lending her marketing expertise through volunteerism efforts with non-profit organizations holding positions as Marketing Chair for Atlanta Celebrates Photography (ACP); Executive Sponsor to the Atlanta University Center Feature Animation Film Project; and is a member of the advisory board for the Peachtree Village International Film Festival (PVIFF).
She is a life member of Phi Beta Kappa and Golden Key International Honour Societies. She is an active member of the Nu Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and is a member of the Lindsay Street Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA. Currently, J'Aimeka is single and resides in Atlanta, GA.
